The article is dedicated to the study of the informative potential of the record-keeping sources of the guberniya of Ekaterinoslavsk’ zemstvo, illustrating the charitable activity in the guberniya of Ekaterinoslavsk. The reports of guberniya of Ekaterinoslavsk’ zemstvo (zemstvos’ assemblies and councils) provide insight into peculiarities of the charitable activity of the guberniya of Ekaterinoslavsk’ zemstvo and enable to define the most important criteria and directions in helping those who are in need. The main directions of charitable activity of the guberniya zemstvo were manifested by giving help to the lowincome and «situational» groups in need – those, who have come across a difficult situation due to some certain circumstances; schoolhouses’ inaugurating; scholarship setting; supporting of medicine development

Borodayevsky’ research studies on the history of the cooperative movement.

Career of the Ukrainian social and political figure, scientist, specialist in the field of history and theory of cooperative movement of the end of XIX – the beginning of the 20th century of Sergey Vasilyevich Borodayevsky are misreported in this article Are analysed his creativity, vision of the researcher of the social and economic nature of cooperation, its role in public life is determined. The special attention is devoted to a research of views of the scientist of national nature of the Ukrainian.

Regarding the legal framework and mechanisms of the departure from Soviet Ukraine of foreign refugees and prisoners of war in the early 1920s.

On the basis of analysis of the archived materials in the article the features of process of forming of legal base and mechanisms of departure from Soviet Ukraine of foreign refugees and prisoners of war are probed at the beginning of 1920th An author exposes the features of forming of categories of foreigners-contingent of Ukrevak, mechanisms and existent practice of dispatch of foreigners on a motherland. A conclusion is done that on the whole the mechanism of departure from Soviet Ukraine of foreigners was prescribed to the end of 1922. A process differed disorganization of y braked in every way. Soviet power aimed not so much to help refugees, how many to stop a free of charge by him help, shift a financial load on refugees. In the flow of 2-3 years many of those, who wished to emigrate, took advantage of this possibility. However many refugees for diverse reasons remained to Soviet Ukraine and soviet government continued to use foreign citizens, as trump in relationships with Foreignness.

State reasons of organized migration in the Ukrainian SSR (1940–60-ies).

The state reasons of organized migration in the Ukrainian SSR (1940–60-ies) is analyzed in the article on base of the literature and archive materials. The conclusion about the dominance of economic and political reasons was done and it includes: the reconstructive period and growth of economic potential; an increase of the arable land in the South and East of the republic; the formation of the social supporting base for the Soviet power in some areas of the USSR.

The theme of daily life is the most promising and relevant direction of modern trend historical reseaches. The Soviet history is rather debatable, interesting are not only the submission and evaluation of this period and their connection with practical vital strategy in a specific historical, social and biographical conditions.

Of particular interest is the study of daily practices and strategeis of certain social categories. The focus of presented reseach-worker of mechanical engineering industry of Donbass in the second half of the 1940s–1980s.

The purpose of the article is determination the issues and direction that will allow to recоnstruct the antropological portrait of the Soviet machin builder.

The author analyzes the main features and characteristics required for the examination of the submitted question. Also identifay aspects that are fundamentally different and produce this labor category, namely: chronological, geographical, qualification, social, the question of the "cult" of the machine builder.

Vasyl Pirko – researcher in life.

The article is devoted to the individual of scientist Vasyl Pirko, who studied previously unexplored aspects of the past of Ukraine and the Donbass, in particular. V. Pirko long time headed the department at the Donetsk National University, brings together young researchers around him. Scientist has focused on the study of the situation of the Galician village in the XVIII century, and later – colonization of Southern Ukraine in ХVІ–XVIII centuries, settlement of the territory of modern Donbass in the early modern era. Professor V. Pirko contributed to the development of historical science and formation of civil society.

Stukanov Yu. M. (1931–2012): life, activity, creativity (dedicated to the 85thbirth anniversary).

J. Stukanova

Carried out the research of the life path, professional – scientific and pedagogical – as well as the creative activity of the historianarchivist Yevhen Stukanov (1931– 2012). On the basis of the sources of both official and personal origin is shown that in the life of E. M. Stukanov an equally important role was played by these two vectors of his activities. In certain years E. M. Stukanov as a historian-archivist headed the State Archives of Donetsk Oblast, was a staff member of the Regional Party Archive. During 1969–2003 he worked as a lecturer of Special Historical Disciplines at Donetsk National University. As for his creative activity, which was an amateur one by its nature, E. M. Stukanov was a poet, musician, composer and an electronics engineer.

South Ukrainian City: changes during the modernization (1870-1900th).

The article is devoted to the general trends of changes in the population structure of the cities of southern Ukraine during 1870-1897 due to the censuses of the last quarter of 19th century. Using the materials demographic censuses author shows the evolution of occupational and ethnic structure of cities’ inhabitants in the last quarter of XIX century. The establishing of new branches of economy (such as finances, service industry) is shown. Author examines the correlation between traditional and industrial patterns of occupation due to the general process of formation of industrial society. Mykolaiv figures are compared to Katerynoslav ones, as far as Katerynoslav was one of the leaders of modernization in Ukraine.

The sovietization of Vinnitsa’ urban environment in the 1920–1930-ies.

The article is devoted to the Sovietization of Vinnitsa urban space in 1920–1930-ies. On basis of historical sources and scholarly literature to trace the Soviet urban policies in Vinnitsa in this period, which included architectural activities and the toponymical in in this period. These changes had to demonstrate and claim the new Soviet order. According to new Soviet policy, the new names of streets and squares were in Vinnitsa.

The khlist’s religious daily in ХІХ century (on Kharkiv province example).

The article is devoted to investigation of peculiarities of khlists religious daily in Kharkov province in the XIX century. The author reveals the sect representatives particular way of life due to their religious beliefs regards (specific requirements for a fasting, the nutriton system, clothing, religious meetings, adherence to Orthodoxy). It is concluded that the increasing the popularity and spreading of sects in Kharkiv province was caused by the high level of material well-being of Khlists, entertainment and interactivity of their religious meetings, the possibility of active participation in rituals, mysticism.

«Rukovodstvo dlya selskikh pasturey» as a source on the history of everyday life in a rural parish clergy of the Ukrainian eparchies of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The article is devoted to analyse of texts, which was published in the magazine «Rukovodstvo dlya selskikh pasturey» («Guide to rural pastors»), the identification of their degree of informativeness and suitability as sources for the study of the history of everyday life of the rural parish clergy of the Ukrainian eparchies of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Russian Empire of late XIX – early XX century.

Двадцять п’ята збірка «Нові сторінки історії Донбасу» сформовано за результатами першої Всеукраїнської конференції «Лихолобовські читання», яка була проведена 29–30 жовтня 2016 року на пошану засновниці журналу, фундаторки наукових шкіл з історії вугільного Донбасу, радянської урбаністики, вивчення тоталітарних режимів доктора історичних наук професора Зої Григорівни Лихолобової (1926–2014). Polish publicpolitical movement in the Dnieperregion in perspective of historical regional studies.

The article is devoted to analyse of studying the Polish public and political movements in Ukrainian lands during the XIX and the beginning of XX century. The author had concluded that social and political history of the Poles in the Russian Empire was the part of modern imperial political-legal, socio-cultural and socio-economic transformations. The development of the Polish movement was a response to a threat for the preservation of national identity in terms of implementation nationalist imperial project, based on the perception of the Dnieper-region like a historic area of the state.

History of the trade union organization of Stalin pedagogical institute (1930–1940).

The article is devoted to history of the trade union organization of Stalin Pedagogical Institute in 1930–1940. The author examines the role of public organizations in the activities of the institute. The article characterizes financial situation of students and teachers in 1930–1940. The study involves the process of formation of the staff of educational institution, including the repression of teachers and student leaders of the trade union committee.

Soviet propaganda of 1937–1938 about political repressions.

The article examines the influence of Soviet propaganda on the moral and political atmosphere of society during the "The Great Terror" on the example of publications and notes, first of all "Communist" newspaper, "Bolshevik", "News" and other Ukrainian and regional media on the background of the show trials of 1937– 1938. Specific examples illustrate the nature of the repressive policies of the Stalinist regime, which is actively used funds massovay media as a propaganda mechanism on the impact of the population not only in Ukraine and the whole USSR.

On the imagery of "the Other" in USSR as researched in modern scientific literature.

This research analyzes the level of study of the "image of the enemy" in the USSR in contemporary scientific literature. The author outlines the reasons for a rise in quantity of works, related to the issues of said concept's creation, the typology of internal and external enemies of the Soviet Union. The analysis of historiography allows to find out about the state of research of said issue and determine the goals for future studies.
