History of the Trade union organization of Stalin pedagogical institute in 1950 – early 1960s.

Purpose. The article is dedicated to the history of the trade union organization of Stalin Pedagogical Institute in 1950 – early 1960s. Based on archival materials, the article discusses the role of the trade union organization in the activities of the institute.
Approach. The study is based on the documents of the party and trade union meetings, which are kept in the Donetsk State Archive.
Findings. The result of the conducted study is the determination of the role of the trade union organization in the activities of the institute. The author examines the role of public organizations in the history of the institute. The article characterizes financial situation of the students and lecturers in the years 1950 – early 1960s. The author describes the activity of the trade union in the organization of academic work, student government, artistic initiative, physical education and other. The article shows the role of the party in the activity of the trade union of the Stalin Pedagogical Institute.
Research implications. The study of this issue reveals new pages of history of Stalin pedagogical institute – the predecessor of Donetsk National University named after Stus.
